Riley Nails of Bragg Wins Spelling Bee for Jefferson County

Julia Sanders, a sixth grader at Tabernacle Christian School placed second and fourth grader Taha Butt of Chalkville Elementary placed third.
There are two more levels of competition. Competition winners from the area school districts within Jefferson County followed by congressional district winners will then become contestants at the state level which is sponsored by Scripps Howard.
Susan Clay, Harold Jackson, and Dr. Pam Williams were all judges at the January 13 contest held at Fultondale Elementary, coordinated by principal Frances Finney.
