Superintendent Dr. Craig Pouncey gave an update on JEFCOED’s graduation rate and the ACT and Aspire scores and how they align with state levels with support from Kellie Yeager. Goals for next school year could include some consideration of zone realignments to correct overcrowding in some areas and to fill empty classrooms in others and further discussion for a capital building program. He expressed gratitude for the foundation’s support of JefCoEd’s new teacher mentoring program and the administrative leadership program that sponsored a leadership team trip to Gwinnett County, Georgia for 15 principals and teachers back in March. He also commended the Foundation’s work in taking a leadership role in the state with the Stellar teaching Program, resulting in having the most National Board Certified Teachers.
Treasurer Wendi Boyen presented the second-quarter financials comparing three-month and six-
Month figures. 
Sally Price gave updates on McDollars for teachers, the Educator Grants Program, the May 9th second-mile teacher
Banquet, and the state of the district September event.
Courtney Brown of Carr, Riggs, & Ingram presented the audit for fiscal year 2015-2016, noting that the Foundation received the best grade report that can be issued. She discussed obvious need to increase the segregation of duties, a common problem for just one full-time and one part-time employee handling a not- for- profit organization.
The board noted the outstanding contributions and service to education of department board members Steve Flanagan of Spire/Alagasco and Barbara Campbell of the Jefferson County Council of PTAs who is also an employee of Blue Cross, Blue Shield. Their board positions will be filled before the summer board meeting.
The next meeting will be July 11 at a place yet to be determined.
