This is the image for the news article titled Emma Black Receives $1,000 Grant to Fund After-School Programs for StudentsAshley Gann, meteorologist, and Tina Yarbourgh (along with the folks from Pepsi Cola and Little Caesars Pizza) came to Adamsville Elementary to award third grade teacher, Emma Black, with a $1,000.00 grant to fund after-school programs for students. The grant from Channel 42 is sponsored by the television station, Buffalo Rock Company and Little Caesars Pizza.

Three years ago, Emma organized after-school clubs for students. Teachers volunteered their time and every Tuesday we had 3-5th grade students stay after-school for an hour to participate in Chess Club, Science Club, Drama, Art, Book, and Handwriting Club.

Emma wrote the grant to help fund art supplies, drama prompts, science experiment materials, etc.  In the past teachers paid for these supplies or we took in donations from parents.  This money will really help fund the Clubs for this year which will kick off on October 10th.

Congratulations to Emma and Adamsville Elementary!
